2 Day Full Day: Tuesday & Thursday 9 am to 3 pm – $300/mo
4-and 5-year-old programs:
3 Day AM Class: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 9 to 11:30 am $190/mo
3 Day PM class: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 12:30 to 3 pm $190/mo
3 Day FULL Class: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 9 am to 3 pm $350/mo

Philosophy
The primary objective of our preschool is to provide positive and successful learning experiences in a secure and loving environment, reflecting the Christian philosophy. We work to foster growth of the whole child. We recognize that each child is an individual who is part of a group. Thinking strategies, language arts, math concepts, social studies, and science, as well as
social and physical skills are integrated to offer many varied learning opportunities.
Candena Mahala (Mrs. Mahala) – Director/Teacher
Mrs. Mahala attended Cecil College and completed her 90 hour cert. and Director cert.
Her teaching experiences include:
Three years as assistant teacher in PA preschool classes
Extensive volunteer work at her church, a private preschool and Avon Grove Charter School.
She is Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid
Mrs. Mahala has been with the North East Methodist Preschool
since Fall, 2023.
Doris Andersen (Mrs. A) – Co-Director/Teacher
Mrs. A attended the University of Delaware and
completed her 90 hr. cert.
Her teaching experiences include:
Fair Hill Nature Center, YMCA, Cecil County Arts Council, Cecil College
In addition, she is Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid.
Mrs. A. has been with the NEM Preschool since 2000.
Pastor Josh Mericle is one of the substitutes for the preschool.
Schedule
NEM Preschool generally follows the Cecil County Public Schools’ calendar.
We start the second week of September and finish the last full week of May.
If Cecil County Public Schools are delayed:
1 Hour Late: Preschool 10 am – 12 noon and 1pm – 3 pm
2 Hours Late: Preschool 11 am – 12:45 pm and 1:15 pm – 3 pm
If Cecil County Schools are closed: Preschool is closed
